Having spent the last 9 years in the very flat state of Flo-rida, i cannot describe how nice it is to be back in Austin–let alone Texas. Between the live music scene (pre-COVID), the food and the outdoor adventure options–Texas can’t be beat. Now by no means am I saying move here! I was grandfathered in–literally my mom’s dad and his grandfather were both from Texas. My mom, Julie, considers family genealogy a hobby of hers. We have family going back tot he Republic of Texas–so I am what’s called a “Daughter of the Republic of Texas“!
Texas is a great state. Half of the greatness is everyone saying and believing how great it is. Anyone who is not a native Texan will often get annoyed with the State Pride–but that’s how you know that “they aren’t from here”.
